The following provides the details on the completion of the transaction and other important information about our rebranding.
1. What is the latest company structure?
On 28 March 2017, Standard Life Aberdeen plc (“SLA”) announced the proposed sale of Standard Life (Asia) Limited (“Standard Life Asia”) to Heng An Standard Life Insurance Company Limited (“HASL”), SLA’s Sino-foreign joint-venture insurance business in Mainland China.
The transaction was completed on 30 June 2020 after receiving approvals from the Insurance Authority in Hong Kong and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission in Mainland China. Standard Life Asia has thus become part of the Sino-foreign joint venture.
The completion of the transaction marks a major milestone for us in building a stronger, single base for our insurance business in Mainland China and Hong Kong, to better serve our customers and build a sustainable business with long-term commitment.

2. As the new brand has been launched, what will be changed to align with the new brand?
The following items have changed to align with our new brand:

c. Email address
The domain name of our email address has been changed to “@hengansl.com.hk”.
d. Customer Service Hotline service hours
The extended hotline service hours are from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

3. What will not change with the launch of the new brand?
The following items will not change with the new brand launch:
a. The benefits, fees, charges, features of your policies, your rights under the policies or the terms and conditions of the existing policies with us will remain unchanged and will continue to be governed by the regulators in Hong Kong
b. All our existing products will continue to be available
c. Our contact numbers and office address
d. The relationship between you and your financial adviser, as well as that between your financial adviser and our company
